An inaugural U-M Interprofessional Leadership Fellow develops a new way to train health professionals.
Michelle Aebersold, a U-M School of Nursing professor and a member of the 2016-17 cohort of U-M Interprofessional Leadership Fellows, has long been an expert in simulation-based training for health professionals. Now, with nearly $100,000 of equipment/funding from the Oculus virtual reality team at Facebook, she is working with medical colleagues on new instructional tools to improve the communication and team dynamics between nurses, doctors, and pharmacists that can lead to better patient care.
