Daniel Fischer, LMSW is the Director of the Child and Family Life Department, Spiritual Care Department, and Mott Community Relations at the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. He is also the Director of Graduate Social Work Education at the UMHS Department of Social Work, an Adjunct Lecturer at the U-M School of Social Work, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the U-M Medical School, Department of Psychiatry. He completed his BA in psychology in 1983 and his MSW in 1984 both at U-M. Dan has been at U-M since 1989, working as a clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator. He has been involved in interprofessional education initiatives in the Department of Psychiatry and in his work with social work education at UMHS. Dan currently serves on the Curriculum Workgroup for the U-M Center for Interprofessional Education.
