Joseph House, MD is currently the Director of Interprofessional Education for the University of Michigan Medical School and serves on both the Executive Committee and the Curriculum Workgroup for the U-M Center for Interprofessional Education. He has been involved with IPE at U-M for the last 4 years and was one of the developers of the Team Based Clinical Decision Making Course, which includes approximately 260 students from 5 health science schools on the U-M campus. He is also the Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director and has taken one of the required rotational activities and made it interprofessional with social work students. He also developed a first year medical student course designed as a longitudinal clinical experience where students begin working with other health professions from day one of medical school. He is working on expanding this experience to other health science school students for the next academic year.
